Fishing Report: Managed as a quality lake Jimmy is blessed with good quantities of aquatic insects and can provide the fly fisherman early spring Chironomid, Mayfly and Dragonfly hatches along with good dry fly action during the mid-June to early July Caddisfly hatch. Rainbows will reach 6 lbs. or better but be patient. Regulations stipulate that there is no fishing between Dec. 1 - April 30, with a single barbless hook, bait ban, and only 1 fish can be kept per day with none under 50 cm. (20 in.) thereby ensuring that there will be large fish left in the lake. This is an excellent lake and it must be kept that way by practicing catch and release.
Be sure to visit Fishbc.com for angling information!

Nearby Lakes

Woods Lake - Woods Lake, 26 ha. (64.2 ac.) in size, can be found approximately 9 km. (5.6 mi.) northeast of Jimmy Lake. Aquatic insects are found in good numbers and fly fishermen will be rewarded by concentrating their efforts on the shoals and drop offs. Woods Lake is stocked with Rainbows and supports trout up to 5 lbs. or larger. A 30 vehicle BCFS with good access and cartop boat launching is available.

Nugget Lake - Nugget Lake with a surface area of 8 ha. (19.8 ac.) can be found approximately 3 km. (2 mi.) south of Jimmy Lake on a very rough 4x4 road. Managed as a quality water, Nugget supports a good Rainbow fishery for trout up to 3+ lbs. The lake contains good quantities of aquatic insects including a great Caddisfly hatch from mid June to early July. A 5 vehicle BCFS campsite can be found at the lake.

Note: Always check your current BC Fishing regulations before you start fishing a new lake.
